Lawn Maintenance

Weekly Lawn Mowing
This service starts at the beginning of April through the end of October. Our lawn mower blades are sharpened weekly and are adjusted to a height of 3″. The turf grass is mowed evenly around buildings, landscape beds, fences, etc. We mow the turf so that the grass clippings are returned or recycled back into the yard. We will leave no clumps of grass in the turf. Upon request we can bag the clippings. Our mowing service includes line trimming around trees, landscape beds, fences, etc. We also blow clippings off driveways, sidewalks, patios, etc.

Spring and Fall Cleanups
This service includes hand raking and a mower bagging of yard, blowing leaves and debris out of landscape beds, sidewalks, driveways. Cleanup of leaves, trash, branches, etc. from yard. We will haul away and dispose of properly.

Dethatching
Thatch is the layer of living and dead stems, roots, stolons, and rhizomes between the green blades of grass and the soil surface. The dethatching process is done with a line attachment on the lawn mower that looses up that thatch layer. Then material is bagged and hauled away.

Benefits of Dethatching:
• Will reduce the water evaporation in turn will mean less water of the lawn in summer time.
• Provides better air flow that will reduce the chances of fungal growth and insect infestation.
• Helps in the resists of weed germination.

Core
This should be done at least once a year in the fall. Aeration will remove plugs out of the lawn that are about 2” in length. The plugs will decompose within a week or two and leave the lawn looking like new again. The normal mowing schedule will continue and the plugs will get mowed up into small pieces.

Benefits of Core Aeration:
• Loosens compacted soil and increases the availability of water and nutrients.
• Enhances oxygen levels in the soil, stimulating root growth and enhancing the activity of thatch-decomposing organisms.
• Reduces water runoff.
• Core-aeration is very helpful in preventing and controlling lawn diseases.
